The cool weather is making our screens run hot! Our screens,
particularly the pleated fly screen, have been in high demand these last few
months. They are proving extremely popular in the Dubai market. We’ve even put
on additional staff to keep up with the demand and to provide as many screens
before the Christmas holidays.
We are also getting many questions about the construction and material used in our screens. All our screens come with a robust aluminium frame that provides the user with peace of mind that they’ll last. The powder coated frame ensures they survive the tough conditions found in the UAE. The mesh screen is either a security rated stainless steel wire that is woven together or the pleated screen uses a polyester mesh. Both options provide a good barrier for flies and mosquitoes but only the stainless steel mesh is security rated.

We’ve certainly come back from our summer holidays and hit the ground running. With the summer not too brutal this year we’ve been overwhelmed with interest in our screens as people get their villas ready for winter.
Now that the summer holidays are behind us and the kids are back at school it’s time to get our villas ready for the cooler months. At Safety Screens we’ve also been getting ready for change and are proud to announce some additions to our product line.
The machines talk like electronic music in a disco. They’re loud and sparks fly. It’s not everyone’s taste but it’s a familiar rhythm to our craftsmen. They dance to a tune that only other artisans understand.
Nothing else. No distractions. Each day we come to work to custom build the highest quality stainless steel mesh screens on the market. In fact, we’re the only ones currently offering these screens in the UAE.
Another one of our key staff is Chris who is an experienced mechanical engineer. Chris has a background in security doors and frames and was a perfect fit for Safety Screens as the company launched back in 2017. He’s been developing and refining some of our processes and systems and helps keep the owners on track who tend to get excited about doing everything!
Over the last few months we’ve had lots of requests for pet doors. Due to the security rating and construction techniques of the screens, cutting a hole for a pet door has proven difficult. Any break in the integrity of the mesh will obviously affect the overall strength of the door. However over recent weeks our metalsmiths have been working hard on a number of pet door prototypes.
Now that the screens have proven themselves in the UAE market, we ordered another container load of raw materials. This container not only included the materials to fabricate our core sliding screen door and window, but materials for French double screen doors. French doors are common in many Dubai and Abu Dhabi villas and will now be available as a secure mesh screen.
One of our key staff members is our lead metalsmith Junisar. He’s an experienced metal worker from the Philippines who prides himself on quality finishing. He loves cutting and joining all forms of steel and aluminium which luckily are the two core components of our screens.
You wouldn’t think that one of the most time consuming tasks of setting up our warehouse was getting the ‘air’ right. By air we mean the high pressure air required to be compressed, stored and then distributed through the airline to all of our tools.
